Ask The Van

I am a sceptic of relativity theory and am trying to become a believer. As far as I know (about this theory), time slows down when some one travels at the speed of light. What about blind people ? Will this effect happen for them as well ?.. I am curious because blind people have nothing to do with light.

Photography during the ceremony

A professional photographer will take pictures of graduates as they are recognized individually by Department Head Dale J. Van Harlingen (Physics) and Department Chair Charles Gammie (Astronomy). Individual and group photographs are available for purchase directly from the photographer, Jim Mikeworth (http://jmike.zenfolio.com/).

Reception

Campus and the local community can be very, very busy on this day. Restaurants are usually very busy and waits can be long. As part of the Department event, we offer a congratulatory reception of light appetizers in the lobby following the convocation ceremony. All graduates and their families are invited to attend.
