2017 Prelim/Final Exam Workshop on Sept. 5

Are you planning to take or thinking about taking your preliminary or final examination this academic year (Sept. 2017 - Aug. 2018)? If so, then you may be interested in attending the 2017 Physics Prelim/Final Exam Workshop from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2017 in Rm. 144 Loomis. Pizza and drinks will be provided!

During the first hour of the workshop (6-7 p.m.), I plan to cover the following topics:

• General information about the prelim and thesis examinations
• Rules associated with the prelim and thesis exams
• Rules associated with resigning your appointment
• Steps for organizing a prelim/final exam committee

During the second hour (7-8 p.m.), I plan to discuss:

• Tips for writing the prelim paper
• Tips for writing your thesis
• Tips for writing a ~30 minute prelim/final talk
• Any other questions about the prelim or thesis exams you have
