August 10 Speak Test will be held today for international students who did not provide an internet based TOEFL speaking section score at the time of applying. Those of you who have to take the speak test as part of your TA duties will be notified via e-mail with the exact time and location. |
August 11 |
August 12 International students should bring their passport, visa and I-20 documents to Room 227 Loomis Lab to complete payroll forms. Required course advising for all new international students who have not studied for a degree previously in the USA . Incoming students will be e-mailed their course advising appointment time and location in advance. After course advising, please go ahead and register for your classes. |
August 13 Domestic Students should bring their employment documents such as driver's license/passport/social security card to Room 227 Loomis to complete payroll forms. Required course advising for all new domestic students and international students who have previously studied for a degree in the USA. Incoming students will be e-mailed their course advising apointment time and location in advance. After course advising, please go ahead and register for your classes. |
August 14 REQUIRED Physics Departmental New Graduate Student Orientation 10am - 12 noon in Room 144 Loomis Lab. New Grad Student Welcome Luncheon from 12 noon - 2:00 pm at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. IMPORTANT Any student who will be a Teaching Assistant for fall must register for classes and enter in his or her class schedule via our schedule form by 5 pm today so that we can complete section assignments. |

August 19 REQUIRED Orientation for all new international students (called the Graduate Symposium on Grading and Office Hours) who have not passed the speak test or the internet based TOEFL speaking section and who will have grading and/or office hour duties, not classroom duties, 8:15am-3:15pm Room 141 Wohlers Hall. |
