Important Registration Information

By Lance Cooper
December 12, 2011

Important registration information for PhD students about to graduate:

  • Please remember that doctoral students must be registered the entire term in which they take the final defense. Doctoral students do NOT need to be registered during the term in which they deposit their theses.
  • Doctoral students who have completed sufficient credit hours for the degree and who are defending in Spring 2012 may wish to register for 0 credit hours to reduce fees and tuition. Students who will be more than 50 miles from campus may wish to consider registering in absentia to further reduce fees. Please consult with the Assoc Head for Grad Programs about these options. Additional information about registration options can be found here

Refer to the Graduate College Handbook for details. Contact the Assoc Head for Grad Programs or Graduate Student Academic Services with any questions about requirements.

If you have questions about the Physics Illinois Graduate Program, contact the Graduate Office, 217.333.3645.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for this blog, please contact Lance Cooper.
