Particle Physics of the Early Universe Description: This course will introduce the particle physics of the early universe. Beginning with standard Big Bang cosmology, we will discuss the thermal history of the early universe, including nucleosynthesis, baryogenesis, cosmological phase transitions, and dark matter candidates. Some exposure to general relativity and quantum field theory is useful but not required. Prerequisites: PHYS 427; PHYS 487 This section will?have distributed attendance.? You will receive an email from your?instructor with specific attendance instructions.
