Are you planning to apply, or thinking about applying, for a 2018 NSF Graduate Fellowship by the Oct. 27, 2017 deadline for Physics and Astronomy?   We will hold a "Graduate Fellowship Workshop" from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2017 in Rm. 204 Loomis (Interaction Room). Pizza and drinks will be provided!

The Fellowship Workshop will include an open discussion with a panel of faculty, staff, and students who have experience with NSF and other Graduate Fellowship applications.  This year's panel will include current Illinois Physics students Daniel Inafuku (3rd-year grad student), Davneet Kaur (3rd-year grad student), and Pranav Rao (1st-year grad student), as well as proposal-writing guru Celia Elliott. These panelists will give their insights into how to develop a successful graduate fellowship application, and they will be available to answer your questions about the application process.

The workshop will also include short presentations by Celia Elliott and myself on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing a effective fellowship proposal. There have been a few important changes to the eligibility and other requirements associated with the 2018 NSF Grad Fellowship competition, so you should try to attend if you're interested in applying.

If you're interested in attending this Workshop, contact slcooper@illinois.edu so we'll know how much pizza to order!
