Time to Make TA and RA Arrangements for Summer 2018!

It's time to start making RA and TA appointment arrangements for Summer 2018!

Please do the following by Friday, April 27:

1. First, talk with your research advisor, if you have one, about your source of support for the summer.

2. Next, go to the following link to the TA/RA Assistantship Preference form for Summer 2018: https://my.physics.illinois.edu/grad/taprefs/

Log in to the assistantship preference form and provide the support information that you are requesting for the summer. Note that if you are requesting TA support, i.e., if you will NOT be supported by a research assistantship this summer, we have only 9 courses -- Phys 101, 102, 211, 212, 213/214, 225, 298 OWL, and 403 -- for which we need TAs in the summer.  In addition, if you are requesting TA support, please be sure to fill in your summer schedule and note that you should indicate the times you ARE available to teach.

3. Finally, note that students who TA in the summer will need to be available for the 2nd summer session, June 11 - August 4, 2018.

In general, RAs are paid in June and July, but not August, while TAs are generally paid in July and August, but not June.
