Illinois Physics PhD Students Michael Highman and Saavanth Velury Earn 2018 NSF Graduate Research Fellowships

Illinois Physics graduate students Michael Highman and Saavanth Velury been awarded 2018 NSF Graduate Research Fellowships.  Only 2000 fellowships were awarded from over 12,000 applications.  

Michael is a first-year graduate student in the research group of Prof. Bryce Gadway and Saavanth is a second-year graduate student in Prof. Taylor Hughes' group.

Michael and Saavanth join current Illinois Physics NSF graduate fellowship recipients Brian Busemeyer, Joe Chapman, Stephen Gill, Hart Goldman, Courtney Krafczyk, Daniel Inafuku, Nick LaRacuente, Gloria Lee, Samantha Rubeck, Greg Vetaw, Laura Wadleigh, and Kiel Williams.
