The Zhang group in the MSE Department and Materials Research Laboratory has openings for 2-3 graduate students and a postdoc. Our lab performs quantum transport measurements and scanning probe microscopy to understand the fascinating quantum behaviors of electronic materials. The openings are in the following research topics:

1. Quantum transport in deformed two-dimensional materials

2. Proximity magnetization and magnetotransport in 2D materials and topological systems

3. Nanocomposite materials for spintronics and high temperature superconductivity

Prof. Zhang is devoted to training students with both practical experimental skills in materials science, and theoretical understanding of the quantum behaviors. We will work together to make sure every student in the group is well prepared for a position after graduation, either in academia or other careers the student finds interesting.
