I am pleased to announce the fourth annual John Hopkins University summer school on the synthesis and discovery of materials, a PARADIM hosted/NSF sponsored workshop, July 7 - 13, 2019.

The focus of this year’s school is discovery in the era of big (materials) data. It will feature talks from experts across the materials design triad: synthesis, characterization, and theory/modeling in addition to hands on experience. Targeted at graduate students, postdocs, and young faculty, there is no registration fee and all meals will be provided. Attendees are expected to cover travel and lodging (in affordable on-campus housing). Participants from non-R01 research institutions and colleges can apply for a travel/housing grant.
