Illinois Physics PhD Students Brandon Buncher, Julian May-Mann, and Kathleen Oolman Earn 2019 NSF Graduate Research Fellowships

Illinois Physics graduate students Brandon Buncher, Julian May-Mann, and Kathleen Oolman have been awarded 2019 NSF Graduate Research Fellowships.  Incoming graduate student Garrett Williams also received a 2019 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.  Only 2000 fellowships were awarded from over 12,000 applications.  

Brandon is a second-year graduate student working with Matias Carrasco Kind, Julian is a second-year graduate student working with Eduardo Fradkin and Taylor Hughes, and Kathleen is a second-year graduate student working with Gina Lorenz.  Garrett will work in Bryce Gadway's group when he joins the department in Summer or Fall 2019.

Brandon, Julian, Kathleen, and Garrett join current Illinois Physics grad students who are/were NSF graduate fellowship recipients, Brian Busemeyer, Joe Chapman, Stephen Gill, Hart Goldman, Courtney Krafczyk, Michael Highman, Daniel Inafuku, Nick LaRacuente, Gloria Lee, Colin Lualdi, Samantha Rubeck, Saavanth Velury, Laura Wadleigh, and Kiel Williams.
