2019 Prelim/Final Exam Workshop on Sept. 4

Are you planning to take or thinking about taking your preliminary or final examination this academic year (Sept. 2019 - Aug. 2020)? If so, then you may be interested in attending the 2019 Physics Prelim/Final Exam Workshop from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2019 in Rm. 144 Loomis. Pizza and drinks will be provided!

During the first hour of the workshop (6-7 p.m.), I plan to cover the following topics:

-- General information about the prelim and thesis examinations

-- Rules associated with the prelim and thesis exams

-- Rules associated with resigning your appointment

-- Steps for organizing a prelim/final exam committee

During the second hour (7-8 p.m.), I plan to discuss:

-- Tips for writing the prelim paper

-- Tips for writing your thesis

-- Tips for writing a ~30 minute prelim/final talk

-- Any other questions about the prelim or thesis exams you have
