The Fall 2019 Physics Careers Seminar series continues next week with a recruiting visit by Intel recruiters (Sept. 17) and Colleen McNamee from Engineering Career Services (Sept. 19):

First, on Tuesday, September 17, a panel of Intel recruiters will visit:

Title: Job Search Essentials for Grad Students

Speakers: Colleen McNamee, Engineering Career Services

Abstract: Integrating career planning into your daily to do list can be quite challenging and often leads to students feeling unprepared or overwhelmed when it's time for a job search. In this workshop, we'll discuss the essential strategies and skills for a successful job search and explore the resources available to help make your job search even easier. You'll walk away from this workshop with a better understanding of the ECS resources available to you, strategies for planning your job search, and how to adapt your application materials based on the opportunities you're interested in.

Bio: Colleen McNamee is a Career Adviser for Engineering Career Services(ECS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her role at ECS, she advises undergraduate and graduate students on career development topics including resume, cover letter, interviewing, offer negotiation, and professional communication. Colleen received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She earned her master's degree in Higher Education Administration with a focus on Management and Organizations.
