Congratulations on earning your degree! To mark this important accomplishment, you are invited to participate in the Undergraduate Physics and Astronomy Convocation, to be held in-person on May 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. We hope you and your family will join us to celebrate your noteworthy efforts and achievement of the past four years. This event will be recorded and posted below after the event.

Place: Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Colwell Playhouse
Who: Physics and Astronomy Graduates of August, December, and May 2020, 2021, and 2022, as well as their family and friends
Schedule: The Colwell Playhouse will open at 1pm for general seating. The Ceremony will begin at 2pm with a reception immediately following in the Studio Theater.

These questions are incredibly important in allowing the department to keep in contact with you as well as determining the placement of our graduates.

Tickets? Are now available for pick up at the Department of Physics main office, Loomis 211. Each graduate will receive 4 tickets prior to convocation to hand out to friends and family. Extra tickets can be obtained at Krannert Center the day of convocation. Graduates will receive an email when tickets are ready to be picked up. If you did not receive an email regarding tickets please email Kelly Darr at

What should I wear? if you are participating in the University-Wide commencement ceremony over the weekend and have a cap and gown feel free to wear it to Convocation. If you do not have a cap and gown most graduates as well as friends and family  wear business casual attire.  

Where should I go the day of the ceremony? Graduates should check-in at the Colwell Playhouse Lower Foyer for the processional no later than 1:15pm. The Theater will open for general seating beginning at 1pm.
