Beginning with Mohammad’s background in physics, he will explain Akuna Capital, the trading industry and the roles with in it. Mohammad will go deeper into how one can leverage a physics degree in the trading industry, opportunities that students should take advantage of while in grad school, and career advice. Questions will then be welcomed and encouraged.

Bio: Dr. Sahrapour attended the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained a dual undergraduate degree in both physics and computer science. He next earned a Master’s of Science in Physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign before earning his PhD in condensed matter physics. While at the University of Illinois, he had the opportunity to take several Financial Engineering courses where he learned about the quantitative side of finance, option pricing, and the mathematics behind it. This led to Dr. Sahrapour’s decision to pursue a career in Finance. Since November 2013, he's worked on several teams at Akuna Capital, where he is currently a quantitative developer working on option pricing models and automation research to be used in trading.
