I discuss some of the trade offs I've experienced between academic work and my job in industry. I'll also talk about what the process was like, good sectors to look for work in, good skills to have, and how you can use your time remaining in school to prepare.

Bio: Nir graduated from UIUC with a PhD in physics in May 2013 working on theoretical statistical physics. He started working at Tower Research, a high frequency trading company based in New York, in August.
