Title:  The elusive 'Hiring Manager': Q&A on how to get an offer

Speaker: Dr. Richard Aburano, Cirrus Logic

Abstract:  In today's extremely hectic environment, getting noticed by the Oz-like hiring manager can be a challenge. Distinguishing yourself from the pack can seemingly be impossible without help. Obtaining a passing grade (offer) through the mysterious interview process can be unnerving. Unfortunately, there is no silver bullet, but you can do things to increase your chance of success. This seminar will provide an informal Q&A session to pick one hiring manager's brain.

Bio: Richard graduated in 1997 with his Physics Ph.D. from UIUC under T.-C. Chiang. Instead of putting on an Intel bunny suit he joined the Device Engineering Group at Cypress Semiconductor where he began learning key lessons of surviving and thriving in Silicon Valley. These continued while at Infineon Technologies where he became a hiring manager for the first time. Richard later built up a Reliability NPI team within Maxim Integrated. Currently, he serves as the Reliability Operations Director for Cirrus Logic in Austin, TX.
