The final seminar of the Spring 2015 Physics Careers seminar series will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, with Dr. Ka-Ho (Billy) Lo, Intel Corp., Portland, OR

Time: 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 (refreshments served at 10:30 a.m.)

Location: Rm 204 Loomis Laboratory (Interaction Room)

Title:  An Introduction to Computational Lithography

Speaker: Dr. Ka-Ho (Billy) Lo, Intel Corp., Portland, OR

Abstract: Moore's Law underpins the digital revolution that has been taking place in the past half century and counting. The central driver of Moore's Law is decades of breakthroughs in microlithography. In this talk, I will talk about my job as an engineer working in the field of computational lithography, which is a key enabler of lithography. I will also share a few career lessons that I have learned so far.

Bio: Ka-Ho received his PhD from the University of Illinois in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Fred Lamb. He joined Intel upon graduation as an RET (Resolution Enhancement Technology) Design Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon. He plays an active role in the development of future generation process technology and in pathfinding work on technology that will enable Intel's continued manufacturing leadership.

Note: While he's in Urbana, Ka-Ho has some availability to meet with students interested in discussing a career in industry or Intel in particular.  If you would like to meet with him, please send me an e-mail, slcooper@illinois.edu, and I'll try to arrange a meeting.
