The Fall 2015 Physics Careers seminar series continues on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 with Kristina Wright, Assistant Director of the Engineering Career Services office at UIUC:

Time: 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 (refreshments served at 10:30 a.m.)

Title:  The Art of Networking

Speaker: Kristina Wright, Assistant Director, Engineering Career Services

Abstract:   We know it takes a certain, special type of person to genuinely enjoy career networking. For the rest of us who may need a little help, there’s the "Art of Networking" . Whether you are already job searching, just beginning to explore career options or simply researching opportunities, this presentation will cover ECS resources and teaches some easy, non-threatening ways to connect with others to meet your goals. Things you'll leave the workshop knowing include: "the approach," ways to get "them" talking (so you can relax – and listen!), and other networking strategies!

Bio: Kristina Wright completed Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Doane College, Crete, Nebraska and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. Kristina spent 12 years in the Honors College at the University of Missouri where she directed the Medopp Program and was an adjunct instructor. In 2015, Kristina joined the University of Illinois Engineering Career Services as an Assistant Director. She supports students in making informed decisions about their career development and trajectory by exploring and developing concrete steps they can take to achieve career objectives.
