2023 Department of Physics NSF Graduate Fellowship Workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 20

Are you planning to apply, or thinking about applying, for a 2024 NSF Graduate Fellowship by the Oct. 20, 2023 deadline for Physics and Astronomy?   We will hold a Graduate Fellowship Workshop from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2023 in Rm. 222/276 Loomis. The Workshop will be conducted in a hybrid mode, and a Zoom link will be circulated to those who can't participate in person. Pizza and drinks will be provided for those who attend in person!

The Fellowship Workshop will include an open discussion with a panel of faculty, staff, and students who have previously received NSF and other Graduate Fellowships.  This year's panel will include current Illinois Physics student Fernando Rigal (3rd-year grad student) and proposal-writing expert Celia Elliott. These panelists will be available to answer your questions about the application process.

The workshop will also include short presentations by Celia Elliott and myself on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing an effective fellowship proposal.
