Are you planning to apply, or thinking about applying, for a 2021 NSF Graduate Fellowship by the Oct. 22, 2020 deadline for Physics and Astronomy?   We will hold a Virtual Graduate Fellowship Workshop from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2020.

The Fellowship Workshop will include an open discussion with a panel of faculty, staff, and students who have previously received NSF and other Graduate Fellowships.  This year's panel will include current Illinois Physics students Rachel Nguyen (2nd-year grad student), Debora Mroczek (1st-year grad student), as well as proposal-writing expert Celia Elliott. These panelists will provide insights into how to develop a successful graduate fellowship application, and they will be available to answer your questions about the application process.

The workshop will also include short presentations by Celia Elliott and myself on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing an effective fellowship proposal. There have been a few important updates in the 2021 NSF Grad Fellowship solicitation, so you should try to attend if you're interested in applying.

If you're interested in attending this Workshop, contact slcooper@illinois.edu so I can send you a Zoom link.
