Current Campus Building Access

Building Access Status is no longer active on the Illinois app or the Boarding Pass. You should not ask anyone to prove their vaccination or testing status.

Vaccination Requirements

Vaccination Requirement: All students, faculty and staff (except those who are fully remote and never come to campus or university-affiliated buildings) are required to be fully vaccinated with a university-accepted COVID-19 vaccine. If you have not already done so, you are required to receive a final dose and submit your Vaccination Record Card to the MyMcKinley Portal.

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 Testing: Individuals who do not have a verified Vaccination Record Card on file will be required to test at an on-campus COVID-19 testing site once per week. Testing compliance will be monitored and those out of compliance may face student or employee discipline.

Campus testing locations are listed here: https://covid19.illinois.edu/on-campus-testing-locations/

If you think you qualify for a COVID-19 testing exemption, you can apply here: https://covid19.illinois.edu/health-and-support/on-campus-covid-19-testing/#test-exemption

Face Masks

As of August 28, 2022: Face coverings are strongly recommended, but not required in classrooms or any campus spaces; Face coverings are required in healthcare facilities (COVID-19 testing sites, McKinley Health Center, Counseling Center, etc.); Face coverings are not required in research labs unless non-COVID-related PPE is needed in the research environment. There are to be no additional expectations for face coverings for units, facilities and events. Individuals are always welcome to wear a face covering to protect themselves.

Quarantining and Isolating

Quarantine helps prevent the spread of disease by separating and restricting the movement of people who were exposed to COVID-19. It is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to the virus away from others to reduce the potential risk of transmission. You can find information for quarantine guidelines on the CDC website.

Isolation is used when someone has actually tested positive for COVID-19. It is used to keep someone known to be contagious with COVID-19 away from others. When an individual tests positive for COVID-19, they will be required to isolate. You can find information for isolation guidelines on the CDC website.
