1945 Rosalyn Yalow earns a Ph.D. in physics—the second woman to receive that degree at UIUC.
1959 Yalow and Dr. Solomon A. Berson discover radioimmunoassay (RIA), a technique which measure antibodies using radioactive material.
1977 Yalow becomes the first American woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
1993 Yalow receives the National Medal of Science and is inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
2021 Centennial of Yalow’s birth: the Heising-Simons Foundation generously donates funds creating a Rosalyn Sussman Yalow Professorship in Physics at UIUC.
2022 Investiture of Nadya Mason as the inaugural Rosalyn Sussman Yalow Professor in Physics is held on May 5th.
