Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in physics intended to augment the existing curriculum. See Class Schedule or departmental course information for topics and prerequisites. Course Information: 1 to 4 undergraduate hours. 1 to 4 graduate hours. May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary.
Section Description
Machine Learning for Physics: This course presents an introduction to modern data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) from a physics perspective. Students will learn the basic concepts, tools, and methods of AI/ML applied to scientific challenges through hands-on projects utilizing open data. Students will study methods to incorporate physics knowledge into AI/ML models to improve their learning efficiency, performance, and interpretability.
