Fall 2012 Grad College Grad Student Travel Grant Information

For Fall 2012, the Graduate College will provide Conference Travel Awards, not to exceed $300, for students traveling to professional conferences. Conference travel awards are intended to support students who will be presenting papers, posters, or creative work at the conferences they attend.

The Physics Department has been allotted a maximum of 5 grad travel awards for Fall 2012. The Physics Grad Programs Office must endorse and approve the student's participation in the conference. Please note that the final award amount from the Graduate College is based on the distance between the University of Illinois Urbana campus and the student's conference destination.

The 2012-2013 version of the application may be electronically completed and then printed from: http://www.grad.illinois.edu/sites/default/files/pdfs/conferencetravel.pdf. Students may not submit applications directly to the Graduate College.

Applications by physics graduate students should be submitted to the Physics Department Grad Programs office (227 Loomis) no later than September 17, 2012, so that we can make final selections and submit applications to the Grad College by September 24, 2012.

Note that the Grad College Conference Travel Awards are supported by Students for Equal Access to Learning (SEAL) fees. Students must have paid the SEAL fee for the current semester in order to be eligible to receive an award. For more fee information, see http://www.registrar.illinois.edu/financial/tuition_details.html#fees. (Students who are exempt from the fees because they are registered in Credit Range III or IV (Credit Range IV for Summer) may participate by paying the fee at a cashier's window in 100 Henry Administration Building by the deadline of the Friday of the fourth week of the term.)
