NSF Graduate Fellowship Workshop
9/4/2012
Are you planning to apply, or thinking about applying, for an NSF Graduate Fellowship by Nov. 14, 2012? We will be conducting a "Graduate Fellowship Workshop" from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 25 in Rm. 144 Loomis. Pizza and drinks will be provided!
Tentatively, this workshop will consist of two parts:
I. Part I of the workshop will consist of an open discussion with a panel of faculty, staff, and students who have experience with NSF and other NSF Graduate Fellowship applications. The panel will include:
- Dr. Bill Wilson, MRL Director of Central Facilities and Principal Scientist - Dr. Wilson has served on NSF GRFP panels
- Current/Previous NSF Fellowship recipients Josiah Walton (4th Year Grad Student), Taylor Byrum (3rd Year Grad Student), and Rebecca Holmes (2nd Year Grad Student)
- Celia Elliott, proposal writing guru
These panelists will give their insights into what comprises a successful NSF graduate fellowship application, and they will be available to answer your questions about the application process.
II. Part II of the workshop will consist of short presentations by Celia Elliott and Lance Cooper on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing a effective fellowship proposal.
