Prof. Russ Giannetta is Looking For a Student in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
11/19/2012
Prof. Russ Giannetta is looking for a graduate student to perform nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy on newly synthesized superconductors. The experiments involve radio frequency electronics, cryogenics, vacuum systems, NMR pulse sequences and programming. A desire and willingness to build things is essential. The physical problems to be explored include quantum criticality, the coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism, order parameter symmetry and kinetic processes such as nucleation and glassiness. In order to overlap with graduate students currently in the group, some time commitment during the Spring 2013 semester would be necessary.
