Postdoc Positions in Los Alamos National Laboratory Quantum Dot Group

I would like to bring to your attention two immediate postdoctoral openings available in the Nanotechnology and Advanced Spectroscopy Team (http://quantumdot.lanl.gov) and the Center for Advanced Solar Photophysics (http://casp.lanl.gov) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). We can also consider senior graduate students that have completed their academic curriculum and are interested in conducting their PhD research at LANL. The available openings are in the areas of optical spectroscopy of semiconductor and metal nanostructures as well as the physics and fabrication of quantum dot devices.

Our spectroscopic efforts emphasize femtosecond techniques, single-nanostructure methods, scan-probe imaging/spectroscopy, and magneto-optics. In our device work, we exploit the potential of colloidal nanostructures for applications in solar energy conversion, light and radiation detection, LEDs and lasers. An overview of our experimental facilities can be found at http://quantumdot.lanl.gov/facilities.shtml.

In addition to stimulating research environment, unmatched experimental resources, and beautiful New Mexico scenery, LANL offers competitive postdoctoral salaries (starting at $71K/annual) and a comprehensive benefits package. The LANL immigration office provides visa support to applicants from abroad.

Outstanding candidates may be considered for Director's, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Richard P. Feynman or Frederick Reines Fellowships. For general information on LANL postdoctoral program refer to http://www.lanl.gov/careers/career-options/postdoctoral-research/index.php.
