Job Opportunity for a PhD in Physics at Maxim Integrated

Maxim Integrated is seeking a Test Development Engineer in the advanced test technology field to identify and qualify new semiconductor test processes and equipment. The position will provide the opportunity to work on the cutting edge of new processes, new packages and product performance capability advancements. This position involves researching, developing and applying physics concepts to expand the capabilities necessary to manufacture next generation integrated circuits. Candidate will interface with functional groups across the company including, Packing Engineering, Design Engineering, Technology, Development and Innovation (Research and Development), Test Engineering and Process Engineering when managing projects, and will have the opportunity to interface with senior management within the company.

A candidate in this role can expect to perform:

- Algorithm development -

- Computer programming

- Equipment integration

- Experiment design and analysis

- Advanced data analysis

- Continuous learning and getting up to speed on new projects

- Packaging and presentation of results

Job Requirements:

- Master's Degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, applied physics or related field

- Experimentation-based (vs. modeling) thesis

- Graduation on or after December 2011 with less than five years of full-time professional work experience (if gap took place between degrees)

- Candidates must have thesis or coursework related to semiconductor device physics, physical optics, computer science and / or related topics

- Applicant must demonstrate superb computer and math skills including algorithm development, high and low level computer language programming and statistical analysis

- Candidate must be able to communicate with audiences at all technical levels and demonstrates superb presentation skills

- This position requires an adaptable, detail oriented practical thinker and problem solver who is a quick learner and who has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
