Reminder: April 26 is the Deadline to Make Summer Appointments

Reminder:  It's time to start making RA and TA appointments for Summer 2013!

Please do the following by Friday, April 26:

1. First, talk with your research advisor, if you have one, about your source of support for the summer.

2. Next, go to the following link to the TA/RA Assistantship Preference form for Summer 2013: https://my.physics.illinois.edu/grad/taprefs/

Log in to the assistantship preference form and provide the support information that you are requesting for the summer. Note that if you are requesting TA support, i.e., if you will NOT be supported by a research assistantship this summer, we have only 6 courses -- Phys 101, 102, 211, 212, 213/214, and 225 -- for which we need TAs in the summer. So when making TA preferences, please be sure to select only one of these 5 courses. In addition, if you are requesting TA support, please be sure to fill in your summer schedule and note that you should indicate the times you ARE available to teach.

3. Finally, if you will not be supported by your advisor on an RA, please schedule an appointment with Lance Cooper (slcooper@illinois.edu) at your earliest convenience so that we can discuss TA or other options for earning your summer stipend. Students who TA in the summer will need to be available for the 2nd summer session, June 10 - August 3.

Note that, in general, RAs are paid in June and July, but not August, while TAs are generally paid in July and August, but not June.
