Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy

Description
Earlham College invites applications for an anticipated full-time, one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, beginning in August 2013. A tenure search is expected for a position beginning in August 2014.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
A possible teaching load would include a yearlong, algebra-based general Physics course (including a lab) with some upper-level courses.

Experience & Qualifications
Preference will go to applicants with a Ph.D. (ABD acceptable) in Physics or Astronomy, or with a master's degree in Physics or Astronomy along with some teaching experience. Although the College is prepared to hire a full-time person in this position, Earlham could accommodate someone who was only available 2/3 time.
