NDSEG Graduate Fellowships

The NDSEG (National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate) Fellowship Program supports US citizens and nationals pursuing doctoral degrees in STEM. These prestigious fellowships offer three years of support, with annual stipends starting at $30,500.

To qualify, students must have completed less than two full-time years of graduate studies in the discipline in which they are applying. Eligible fields include Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering, Biosciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive/Neural/Behavioral Sciences, Computer/Computational Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Geosciences, Materials Science & Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.

Also, though the NDSEG Fellowship targets the same general group that the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship does, the NDSEG application is much shorter and easier to complete. Therefore, students who applied for the GRF this year should consider applying for the NDSEG as well. Doing so would not take much time, and it would double their chances of winning a major fellowship this year.

Students apply directly to NDSEG, and applications are due December 20.
