Important Spring 2014 Registration Information For All Graduate Students!

All physics graduate students on assistantships or fellowships for Spring 2014 MUST be full-time registered students during Spring 2014.  Following are the credit hour registration requirements for full-time status:

Students on RA and TA appointments:  The Graduate College requires that all grad students who will be supported by RA or TA assistantships in Spring 2014 must register for a minimum of 8 credit hours during Spring 2014.  Neglecting to register as a full-time student can result in a disruption of your pay and a suspension of your assistantship.

Students with fellowships:  The Graduate College requires that all graduate students on fellowships or other non-waiver generating appointments in Spring 2014 must register for a minimum of 12 credit hours during Spring 2014.

International students:  It is particularly important that international students remain continuously registered as full-time students during Spring 2014.  Failure to retain full-time status can lead to a suspension of your visa and a costly and time-consuming requirement to leave the US to renew your visa in your home country.  In particular, international students on RA or TA appointments should make sure NOT to drop below the 8 credit hour minimum when making course changes.

Additional information about course load requirements for graduate students can be found in the Grad College Handbook.
