Adjunct in Physics Needed at Harold Washington College for Summer 2014

Harold Washington College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach Engineering Physics I: Mechanics and Wave Motion (Physics 235, Calculus-based) during the Summer of 2014. This course is primarily for students majoring in engineering or the physical sciences. It emphasizes methods of analysis of practical and theoretical problems in mechanics and wave motion involving use of elementary calculus.

The summer semester is 7.5 weeks long and runs from Wednesday, 4 June to Thursday, 24 July. It meets four evenings a week: from 5:30-9:20pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The minimum credentials to teach the course are a Masters degree in Physics, or a Masters degree in any discipline and 18 graduate semester hours in Physics. Pay is commensurate with the level of education. If interested, you can contact Anthony Escuadro, Assistant Professor of Physics at aescuadro@ccc.edu, or you can send a CV to Dr. Thomas Higgins, Physical Science Department Chair, at tbhiggins@ccc.edu.
