Research Assistant Position in Prof. Cecelia Leal's Materials Group
6/24/2014
Professor Cecilia Leal in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Illinois is interested in studying the process of self-assembly of biological materials such as lipid membranes and DNA with the intent to develop new materials for therapeutic and biotechnological applications. This Fall, Prof. Leal will be recruiting a PhD student to initiate a new research project to use Small Angle X-ray Scattering to investigate the self-assembly process of soft nano-scaffolds to orient hard materials onto surfaces. The objective of this study is the development of materials with rich geometry and topography for the applications of antifouling and antimicrobial surfaces.
