Fall 2014 Registration Reminders

Please remember that doctoral students must be registered the entire term during which they take their Preliminary Exam and the entire term during which they take the Final Examination/Defense. They do not need to be registered during the term in which they deposit.

Doctoral students who have completed sufficient credit hours for the degree and who are defending in Fall 2014 may wish to register for zero credit hours. Students who will be more than 50 miles from campus may wish to consider registering In Absentia. Please consult with your department about these options.

Please register correctly at the beginning of the semester to avoid problems with registration and unwanted tuition charges later. The Graduate College Handbook states: Students are responsible for their own registration and for ensuring the accuracy of their schedules.

Please refer to the Graduate College Handbook for details about requirements. Contact your department office or Graduate Student Academic Services for questions about requirements at (217) 333-2364 or gradacserv@illinois.edu
