11/5/2014
In Physics 596, Grad Student Orientation on Friday, Nov. 7, there will be three research presentations from faculty members interested in taking physics graduate students into their research groups. All physics graduate students looking for research positions are welcome to attend these research presentations in Rm. 144 Loomis:
From roughly 11 - 11:35 a.m., Prof. Liang Yang (http://physics.illinois.edu/people/profile.asp?liangyg) will talk about research opportunities in his experimental intermediate energy physics group, which studies neutrino physics.
From roughly 11:35 - 12:10 p.m., Prof. Cecilia Leal of the Materials Science and Engineering Department (http://cecilial.matse.illinois.edu/) will talk about research opportunities in her soft condensed matter physics group.
From roughly 12:15 - 12:50 p.m., Prof. Jeff Filippini (http://www.its.caltech.edu/~jfilippi/Welcome.html) -- who will be joining the department this spring -- will talk about research opportunities in his experimental astrophysics group.
Please let Lance Cooper know if you have any questions about these research presentations.
