Physics 598 MN on Electronic Transport in Mesoscopic Systems Offered This Spring

Course Title:  Physics 598MN, Electronic Transport in Mesoscopic Systems

Instructor:  Prof. Nadya Mason

Times:  Monday and Wednesday, 11 am - 12:20 pm

Location: 136 Loomis

Major Topics:  This course covers the physics of electron transport in nanostructures, with an emphasis on key experimental problems and results. The basic goal is to enable students to read a recent PRL on a meso or nano- topic, and have enough background to understand the context and evaluate the science. Topics include: conductance quantization, phase coherent transport, single electron tunneling, quantum dots, nanowires, graphene, nano-superconductivity, topological materials, and spin manipulation. The course format is typically alternate days of lectures and student presentations of articles.
