Programs For Grad Students from Grad College Career Development Office
8/28/2015
Next week marks the start of the Grad College Career Services Center's professional development workshop series for Fall 2015. Beginning on Thursday and running into November, we will offer 21 workshops to help graduate students succeed in graduate school, explore broad career options, conduct effective job searches, and make connections in their chosen fields. Topics include goal-setting for success, writing application documents, preparing for interviews, communicating about research, and more. I have attached a digital version of our workshop poster which you can forward to students in your program. If you would like a full-sized, color hardcopy to post in your department, please let me know and we will deliver one to you.
In addition to workshop programming, our office also offers individual advising for students who are exploring careers or preparing for academic or non-academic job searches. If you have students who could use some help with application documents or thinking about their future careers, you can refer them to us.
The Graduate College Career Development Office supports graduate students’ professional and career development from the first year to the job search. We have been focused on meeting the needs of graduate students and postdocs since 2003, and we provide support for both academic and non-academic career paths. We are happy to partner with departments to find new ways to serve their students, so let me know if you would like to talk.
