2015 Dept. of Physics NSF Graduate Fellowship Workshop

Are you planning to apply, or thinking about applying, for a 2016 NSF Graduate Fellowship by the Oct. 30, 2015 deadline for Physics and Astronomy?   We will hold a "Graduate Fellowship Workshop" from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sept. 22 in Rm. 204 Loomis (Interaction Room). Pizza and drinks will be provided!

Fellowship Workshop will include an open discussion with a panel of faculty, staff, and students who have experience with NSF and other Graduate Fellowship applications. This year's panel will include current Illinois Physics NSF Fellowship holders Laura Wadleigh (2nd-year grad student), Gloria Lee (3rd-year grad student), Brian Busemeyer (3rd-year grad student), Nick LaRacuente (3rd-year grad student), Kiel Williams (3rd-year grad student), and Courtney Krafczyk (5th-year grad student), as well as proposal-writing guru Celia Elliott. These panelists will give their insights into how to develop a successful graduate fellowship application, and they will be available to answer your questions about the application process.

The workshop will also include short presentations by Celia Elliott and myself on the key components of the NSF Fellowship application and tips for writing a effective fellowship proposal.
