Cloth Face Masks Available in Physics Grad Student Lounge

As you may know, the Illinois governor's stay-at-home order has been extended until June 1, 2020, and starting May 1, mandatory face coverings will be required in public places where 6-ft. social distancing isn't possible.

If you need a face mask, we're restocking cloth face masks for physics grad students in a Biaggi's bag in the physics grad student lounge. We'll continue to restock the grad lounge with face masks as long as there's a demand. The masks have been washed and put in individual sandwich bags to keep them clean and antiseptic.

The face masks can be reused and effectively sterilized after use by simply washing them (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html). And of course they're yours to keep.

If you're interested in making your own face mask, the Center for Disease Control provides instructions for making face masks using both sew and no-sew methods: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html
