iPoLS 2021 Education Meeting: Black in iPoLS March 12-13
3/9/2021 10:40:41 AM
I am writing to invite you to join our International Physics of Living Systems Education Meeting this Friday, for speaker presentations from 1:30-5:00 Eastern time, and Saturday, 3/13, for mentoring workshops from 1:00-4:00 Eastern time.
This free meeting, Black in Physics of Living Systems Research, will explore best practices in improving research climate, culture, and opportunities for Black scientists in interdisciplinary scientific research.
We are excited about our 3 Friday speakers, Dr. Ebony McGee of Vanderbilt University, Dr. Allison WIlliams of Wesleyan University, and Dr. Donnell Walton of Corning, Inc. The Saturday workshops will allow undergraduates and junior graduate students to improve their networking skills, while more senior graduate students, postdocs, and other researchers will learn effective mentoring skills.
