Grainger Engineering Career Services Fall 2021 Career Fairs

Engineering Career Services is pleased to share with you updates for the Fall 2021 Recruiting Season! Using the Handshake career management platform, we will be offering two virtual career fairs. Many companies have expressed interest in returning to campus for in-person recruiting and so we are also offering a limited, in-person career fair at the Illini Union.

A helpful feature of the Handshake virtual career fair platform is the ability for students to schedule a 10 minute video-chat with a company representative. This will enable students to make efficient use of their time as they do not have to wait in a virtual wait line to speak with a company representative. We hope that students will schedule times to chat with companies that are convenient for them, with as little disruption to their academics as possible.

This fall, we are also introducing additional opportunities for students to learn about various companies. During the first week in September, students can participate in “Major Meet-Ups”, a virtual program designed as a career fair preparation event. And, throughout September, you may see employer- hosted ‘Branding Days’ under the tent on the north side of Engineering Hall.

We hope that you will encourage students to participate in these activities so that they can continue to explore companies and careers. As always, Engineering Career Services is offering a variety of workshops, virtual and in-person resources this fall that will support students throughout their career search journey.
