A six-year, renewable, research scientist position will be available Jan 2022 in the group of Prof. Emilia Morosan at Rice University. We are looking for a creative and independent researcher who would engage with the entire condensed matter group at Rice, on topics related to magnetism (local and itinerant moment, Kondo systems), topological correlated systems, superconductivity and density waves, as well as exotic phenomena resulting from competing phases, e.g. quantum criticality. The successful candidate will work closely with Morosan group’s graduate and undergraduate students and postdocs. Candidates must have several years of experience with characterization techniques, such as thermodynamic and transport measurements, and low temperature probes. Pressure measurements or spectroscopic techniques experience is desirable, and familiarity with band structure calculations is a plus.
The qualified candidates must have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science, with at least three years of experience past PhD. Please share this information with anyone who may be able to recommend young colleagues qualified for this position. For applications and more information, please email Prof. Emilia Morosan emorosan@rice.edu.
