Greetings. I wish to call your attention to an exciting instructional faculty position at Scripps College, a nationally ranked liberal arts college.

The Experimental-Physics Lab Specialist position would be ideal for someone who has strong interests, talents, and expertise in undergraduate physics laboratory pedagogy – including teaching of labs, developing and updating the lab curriculum, maintaining and managing the labs, and also potentially teaching some physics lecture courses. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about teaching and working with excellent undergraduate students, without the need to first do a post-doc or having the scholarship expectations of a tenure-track position. As a staff position, this job does not carry tenure, although it is expected to be continuing (the last person held this position for nearly 2 decades).

We hope you might circulate this advertisement (attached) to any and all PhD candidates in your program that you think might be interested in this career path. If your department has any visiting instructors searching for a permanent position of this kind, please also alert them!
