Yield Organization within Logic Technology Development (LTD) at Intel is responsible for detecting and root causing yield limiters during the development of next generation of process technology and working with LTD partners to help resolve them to result in high yielding robust process technology. This requires a team with expertise in multiple domains and the makeup of the organization reflects that. New hires come from many different disciplines including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering to name a few. Nature of prior training is similarly diverse -- some are theorists, some are experimentalists, and some come with expertise in computational disciplines.

Once hired, there are broadly two job roles. One revolves around analyzing data coming out of experiments, identifying issues, and working with partner organizations to resolve them. Second revolves around enabling collection of data that would allow the issues to be detected. This involves making use of existing tools/techniques, and developing new tools/techniques.

For good candidates, start date is normally not a limiting consideration. So, if a candidate is graduating anytime during the year, she/he is welcome to apply. Also, given the diversity of domain expertise needed by the organization, it is always best for the candidates to reach out rather than exclude oneself from consideration by not applying.

One example job posting that provides more details is job requisition number JR0208905 available at Intel’s job site at jobs.intel.com.
