Introducing the IQUIST Postdoctoral Scholars Program
8/25/2022 2:35:30 PM
The Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center (IQUIST) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) invites applications for postdoctoral scholar positions in quantum science. The postdoctoral scholar program supports outstanding scientists and offers a unique opportunity for selected scholars to engage in a two-year interdisciplinary research fellowship at the Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center.
"Quantum Information Science is expanding rapidly and the demand for trained scientists is extremely high. This problem is particularly acute at the postdoctoral level, where the growing industry sector is pulling talent out of academia. Moreover, most of our peer institutions already have quantum-focused Postdoctoral Scholar Programs, which help them attract and support elite-level postdocs. It is time that IQUIST addresses these two sources of competition by creating our own Postdoc Award, which will not only strengthen our postdoc pool, but will also foster collaborations between IQUIST faculty at the grassroots level," said Jacob Covey, assistant professor of physics.
The review of applications begins on October 15, 2022; applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all materials by that date. Full consideration is given for applications received by December 15, 2022.
