Record Ten Physics Graduate Students Selected for 2023-2024 Mavis Future Faculty Fellows Program

A record number of ten Illinois Physics PhD students, Shraddha Agrawal, Alex Beach, Jacopo Gliozzi, Shubhang Goswami, Debora Mroczek, Azel Murzabekova, Rachel Nguyen, Jordi Salinas San Martin, Emily Waite, and Chenghao Zhang, have been selected as Mavis Future Faculty Fellows for the 2023-2024 academic year. This program is designed to help doctoral students in the College of Engineering become the next generation of great engineering faculty.

Shraddha is a PhD student in Bryce Gadway's group, Alex and Emily are PhD students in Nadya Mason's group, Jacopo is a PhD student in Taylor Hughes' group, Shubhang is a PhD student in David Ceperley's group, Debora and Jordi are PhD students in Jaki Noronha-Hostler's research group, Azel is a PhD student in Fahad Mahmood's research group, and Rachel is a PhD student in Yoni Kahn's research group. This record number of 10 Illinois Physics graduate students selected for the Mavis program join current Illinois Physics graduate students Luis de Jesus Astacio, Darshan Chalise, Chandana Gopalakrishnappa, Mark Hirsbrunner, Dongbeom Kim, Colin Lualdi, Yinchuan Lv, Julian May-Mann, Preetha Sarkar, Elle Shaw, Soho Shim, Varsha Subramanyan, and Garrett Williams as recent/current Mavis Future Faculty Fellows.
