The Yingjie Zhang group in the Materials Science & Engineering Department (MatSE) is looking for motivated graduate students to work on projects in the recently funded NSF Center for Quantitative Biology. The project will be focused on infrared tomography of live cells, including instrument design, live cell imaging, and machine learning-assisted tomographic reconstruction. Students with some optics background will be preferred, but not required. The student will be in close collaboration or co-advised with Rohit Bhargava (Bioengineering), in addition to collaboration with other biophysics faculty.

Details on this center team and projects can be found here: https://qcb.illinois.edu/members

Interested students can reach out to Prof. Zhang (attach your CV and transcripts) at: yjz@illinois.edu
