Illinois Physics PhD alumn, Dr. Bryan Dannowitz, of Monsanto in St. Louis, has forwarded an opportunity that might be of interest to physics students looking to get experience in industry.
The opportunity is as a Data Analytics Co-op, and one can find the details here: https://jobs.monsanto.com/job/st-louis/data-analytics-co-op/769/2772248
Students who participate in co-ops are usually near the end of their PhD program who stop classes and/or assistantships to work full time. Co-ops are fully paid positions that last six months, and there are two time periods open for application: January-June 2017 and July-December 2017.
These co-ops provide extensive experience regarding enterprise, production-level analytics, and will center around developing their own keystone project that will bring value to the company.
Most co-ops that have worked in our analytics group have received offers of permanent employment, and many of those work here now (after going back and finishing their PhD requirements).
Please have anyone interested send their resumes to:
Our group is looking to schedule candidates for interviews within the month, and official offers will be made by November.
